Emergency Operations Center - About the EOC

The UC Berkeley Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is where the coordination of information and resources to manage and support an emergency occurs. It's where pre-identified and trained Berkeley staff come together to get our campus life back to normal as quickly as possible.
The EOC can activate for a variety of emergencies that may affect our campus, such as an earthquake, wildfire, or large-scale power outage. It can also activate for planned events that require an extra level of coordination and support, like the Big Game. Go Bears!

The EOC is staffed by subject matter experts from across campus who have been pre-identified and trained to work in one of five functions: Management, Operations, Planning, Logistics, and Finance & Administration. If you think that you have the skills and expertise to help the campus in an emergency, please email us and we may reach out if a position becomes available.

If you are selected as an EOC staff member, then you know the importance of taking training to stay in tip-top emergency management shape. Check out our EOC Staff training schedule for upcoming opportunities.

Is there a training you want but don’t see? Let’s talk. As OEM, our job is to make sure that when it happens, you're ready.
